Byron Connolly is a highly experienced technology and business journalist and editor with 20 years’ experience and 8 years’ experience talking to CIOs about cyber security. As the editor-in-chief, he is responsible for commissioning, writing and editing content that are published by IDG Communications. Byron also facilitates roundtables and conferences for senior IT and business executives and creates content from these events.

Prior to this role, Byron was a senior writer and editor at Editor Group, a Sydney-based corporate writing agency, where he produced editorial material for some of the world’s top technology and consulting companies.

Byron was editor of technology channel publication, CRN Australia, published by Haymarket Media Group, and held senior editorial roles at technology publications ITNews and Information Week at Penton Media and APN News and Media.
Prior to this role, Byron was a senior writer and editor at Editor Group, a Sydney-based corporate writing agency, where he produced editorial material for some of the world’s top technology and consulting companies.

James Turner

Founder, CISO Lens

James Turner is the founder of CISO Lens, where he works with the security leaders from the largest organisations across Australia and New Zealand. James facilitates connections and collaboration, and helps share strategic information across organisations, industries and countries. Since 2005, James has specialised as an information security industry analyst and advisor. In this capacity, he gathers, curates and disseminates information that is of strategic importance to cyber risk management. In 2018 James launched the CISO Lens Benchmark, an annual report providing independent, local, and current information for local technology and security executives. From 2007 to 2018, James was an Advisor at IBRS where he established the CIO Cyber and Risk Network. Now, as an emeritus Advisor at IBRS, James continues to chair the gatherings of this group. From 2013 to 2016, James volunteered as an official spokesperson for the Australian Information Security Association (AISA) and was the appointed Chair of AISA’s Advocacy group. James also writes opinion pieces for the Australian Financial Review on national cyber security issues.

Bianca Wirth

Director - Cyber Security, KPMG Australia

Bianca Wirth has over 20 years’ experience in IT and security and she has consulted to over 100 companies from a diverse range of industries and government in this time. She has worked for a global software vendor, developed her own successful consulting business and guest lectures on security at universities. Bianca developed and implemented an innovative security education & awareness program at Insurance Australia Group, and joined KPMG as Director of Cyber in 2020.
