Marc Goodman

Founder of the Future Crimes Institute, New York Times Best-Selling author, global strategist

Marc Goodman is a New York Times Best-Selling author, global strategist and consultant focused on the profound change technology is having on security, business and international affairs. He is the founder of the Future Crimes Institute and currently serves as the Chair for Policy, Law and Ethics at Silicon Valley’s Singularity University. Over the past twenty years, he has built his
expertise in international cyber crime and terrorism working with organizations such as INTERPOL, the UN Counterterrorism Task Force, NATO and the US Government.
Mr. Goodman frequently advises industry leaders, security executives and global policy makers on transnational cyber risk and intelligence and has operated in more than 70 countries around the world. His professional experiences include working as a street police officer, undercover investigator and counter-terrorism strategist, as well as briefing myriad cabinet ministers and
heads of government, including the White House. Mr. Goodman’s current areas of research include the security implications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, robotics, crypto-currencies, synthetic biology, virtual reality and the Internet of Things.
Mr. Goodman holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University and a Master of Science in the Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics. In
addition, he has served as a Fellow at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation and is a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Stanford’s MediaX Laboratory. He is on the advisory board of The AI Initiative, part of The Future Society at Harvard Kennedy School and a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on International Security.
Mr. Goodman is the author of Future Crimes: Inside the Digital Underground and the Battle for Our Connected World, from Random House/Doubleday. Future Crimes is a New York Times,
Wall Street Journal and USA Today Best-Seller, was selected as Amazon’s Best Business Book of 2015 and has been named one of the Washington Post’s Top Ten Best Books of 2015. Future
Crimes is in its ninth printing and has been translated into 11 languages.
Mr. Goodman has published widely on a variety of emerging technology issues including articles with the The Economist, Wired, The Atlantic, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Oxford University Press, Jane’s Intelligence Review and the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin. He has
been interviewed by BBC, CNN, Fox News, NPR, NBC, PBS, the Washington Post, LA Times,
Le Monde, Larry King, Tim Ferriss, and many others. A sought-after speaker, Mr. Goodman’s TED talk “A Vision of Crimes in the Future,” has been viewed over 1.2 million times and translated into 26 languages.

A popular public speaker, Bragdon participates in myriad industry events via face to face and webcast appearances, as well as user-group conferences. Bragdon has been quoted by major media organizations including CNN, The Washington Post, National Journal Technology Daily, and United Press International (UPI). In 2007, he was named as a “Top Innovator” by BtoB magazine.

David Gee

Global Head Cybersecurity Awareness, Training, Learning & Development, HSBC Asia Pacific

David is globally responsible for driving cybersecurity culture at HSBC. His team is building the 'human firewall’ to protect the bank by developing this security culture mindset. This includes cyber awareness training for 200,000 staff, 20,000 developers and Board Executive briefings globally. The new cyber culture has a strong data driven foundation approach to provide behaviour based specific training for all staff.

He is also driving a new strategy to engage external business clients in cyber thought leader briefing sessions. David also owns the Learning and Development (L&D) for all Cybersecurity staff globally and also includes the newly launched L&D for Developer pathways.

David was CISO for HSBC Asia Pacific, responsible for 19 countries in what is the most critical and profitable region for the business for the last 2.3 years.

He has an extensive 19 years Transformation CIO background and most recently was Metlife Japan CIO & SVP responsible for 8 million customers for their largest retail market.

David has a strong fintech background as Board Advisor and Venture Capital Partner. He has also been partner-level IT consultant with KPMG, EY and ICG.

Tim Callahan

SVP, Global Chief Information Security Officer , Aflac

Tim is an experienced Chief Information Security Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services and insurance building industry leading programs. He is skilled in all aspects of logical and physical security, enterprise risk management, IT Strategy, industry compliance standards, cyber and information security with a deep history in leading global teams, building technology risk, security and governance programs. Tim serves as board chair of the National Technology Security Coalition, board member of the Technology Association of Georgia, board adviser of Covered Security and is a frequent conference keynote speaker and panellist.

Byron Connolly

Editor-in-Chief, CIO Australia

Byron Connolly is a highly experienced technology and business journalist and editor with 20 years’ experience. As the editor-in-chief of CIO Australia he is responsible for commissioning, writing and editing content that appears on www.cio.com.au, published by IDG Communications – Australia. Byron also facilitates roundtables and conferences for senior IT and business executives and creates content from these events.

Prior to this role, Byron was a senior writer and editor at Editor Group, a Sydney-based corporate writing agency, where he produced editorial material for some of the world’s top technology and consulting companies.

Byron was editor of technology channel publication, CRN Australia, published by Haymarket Media Group, and held senior editorial roles at technology publications ITNews and Information Week at Penton Media and APN News and Media.

He was also client services director at public relations firm Upstream Australia (now Bite Global).

David Braue

His prolific career, writing for Australia’s leading newspapers and specialist magazines and Web sites, has been recognised with numerous IT journalism awards including 2010 IT Journalist of the Year.

Ryan Kalember

EVP Cybersecurity Strategy, Proofpoint

With almost 20 years of experience in the information security industry, Mr. Kalember currently leads cybersecurity strategy for Proofpoint and is a sought-out expert for leadership and commentary on breaches and best practices. His global team of security experts ensures that Proofpoint’s customers have consistent insight into the attacks that target their people.

Mr. Kalember joined Proofpoint from WatchDox where he served as both chief product officer and CMO, leading the development of pioneering data-centric security solutions through to the company’s acquisition. Previously, Ryan ran solutions across HP’s portfolio of security products, was director of product strategy at ArcSight, and held a variety of positions at VeriSign, including EMEA regional manager and senior product manager. Early in his career, Ryan was a security practitioner, helping build many leading security organizations and security operations centers (SOCs) around the world. He received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where he studied fault tolerance, cryptography, and authentication algorithms.

Dave Lewis

Lewis has 25 years of experience in IT security operations and management, including a decade dealing with critical infrastructure security. He is the founder of the security site Liquidmatrix Security Digest and co-host of the Liquidmatrix podcast as well as host of the Plaintext and Murder Board podcasts. Lewis serves on the advisory boards for several firms. He writes columns for Daily Swig, Forbes and several other publications.

Alex Mosher

Global Vice President of Solutions, MobileIron

Alex Mosher, is Global Vice President, Solutions, at MobileIron. In his role, Mosher is responsible for MobileIron’s go-to-market plan and aligning mobile, security, and cloud solution strategy with execution.

Before joining MobileIron he spent 12 years at CA Technologies – responsible for CA’s $1.4B+ cybersecurity business strategy and go-to-market plan. In his last role with CA Technologies, Alex was a global vice president responsible for all sales and go-to-market integration of CA’s $612 million acquisition of Veracode, which was sold to Thoma Bravo just 16 months later for $965M.

Today, Alex leads a global team that works to develop and implement action plans that enable customers to take control of security, identities, access, and information across platforms and devices. As a 20-year information technology industry veteran, he has amassed hands-on experience in virtually every aspect of the business, including sales and marketing, development, and deployment services.
