It never rains software update, but it pours. Apple on Monday released OS X Mavericks 10.9.4, incorporating a number of small fixes for the Mac OS, as well as patching some security holes. Apple also released iOS 7.1.2.

OS X 10.9.4 fixes a problem where some Macs wouldn't automatically connect to known Wi-Fi networks, improves wake-from-sleep reliability, and deals with a problem where the background or Apple logo appears incorrectly on startup. (I'm sure that's really been bugging some of you.)

The update also includes Safari 7.0.5, though details on that update were not immediately available. Likewise, a full list of security patches for OS X 10.9.4 had not yet been disclosed as of this writing.

OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 is available via the Updates pane in the Mac App Store, and is recommended for all Mavericks users.
