August: Sunnyvale California
Veteran Mincom head Greg Clark will take charge of specialist networking security and optimisation firm Blue Coat Systems.
Blue Coat reported an 11 per cent decline in revenue last year, triggering incumbent chief executive, Mike Borman to step down.
Blue Coat announced that Clark will take up the chief executive role, as well as president and member on the board as of 15 September. His move follows the recent acquisition of Mincom by the ABB Group.
Blue Coat has grown its portfolio over the past few years, including acquisitions of Packateer in 2008 and S7 Software Solutions in 2010.
Clark brings technical and management experience to Blue Coat which includes founding the security software company Dascom (acquired by IBM to form the basis of its Tivoli Systems), roles at IBM, AT&T UNIX Systems Laboratories and Stallion Technologies.
