Westpac scam emails still lurking

Westpac has warned that malicious emails discovered earlier this week are still being churned out to customers.
The emails request customers to fill out a survey or restore their account details.
It has also found evidence of fake short message services (SMS) asking for account details as well as scammers phoning up customers claiming to be from Westpac.
In an update on its Twitter account today, the bank advised that emails with the subject line `You will be suspended' had been sent out. It advised people to delete the email immediately.
In a statement posted on its website, the bank outlined that if the email contained a link, asked for account information and had poor grammar and punctuation it may be a scam.
Symantec division, PC Tools, provides banking customers with 12 months free spyware, antispyware, antivirus, firewall plus and other protection tools.
The company has been contacted for comment about the emails but had not responded at the time of writing.
