Law firm Norton Rose Fulbright appoints global CISO

Paul Swarbrick was previously cyber security head at National Air Traffic Services

Law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Paul Swarbrick as its global chief information security officer (CISO).

Swarbrick will be based in London, and join the company's senior management team. He will work closely with IT and the business internationally to develop a consistent cyber security strategy for whole business.

Sheila Doyle, global CIO at Norton Rose Fulbright, said: "Companies need CISOs who, like Paul, are commercially astute and can act as the conduit between various organisational and operational structures and hierarchies to provide an enterprise-wide solution to the security challenge."

Swarbrick, a fellow of Cambridge University's Centre for Science and Policy, was previously CISO and head of cyber security at National Air Traffic Services (NATS). According to his LinkedIn profile, he also worked on the 2012 UK Border Olympic security.

Other roles on his CV include security programme manager on the UK government's Home Office scientific development branch, national security accreditor at the Home Office and senior information security consultant for the government's Identity and Passport Service.
