BoxTone Adds Automated Security to Mobile Software

BoxTone, an enterprise mobility management software provider, today announced new enhancements to its Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platform that are designed to help CIOs, CISOs and other IT managers meet security and compliance regulations while managing large numbers of employee- and corporate-owned mobile devices.

BoxTone says its EMM product is the first such software to take an IT Service Management (ITSM)-based approach and offer a "fully automated policy and compliance management engine with a comprehensive real-time mobile security dashboard, analytics, alerting" and audit reporting.

The company's new and improved EMM engine directly integrates with commonly used policy and security systems, such as Microsoft Active Directory, and automates policy, change and compliance management functions, to save IT departments time, ensure proven compliance and reduce the human error associated with manual compliance efforts, according to BoxTone. And BoxTone's software works with a variety of popular mobile device platforms including BlackBerry, iOS and Android.

BoxTone claims the automated security and management features built into its latest update, including real-time visibility of security policies and a fully auditable mobile analytics archive, as well as integrated reporting for audit and proof of controls, will be required in the future to ensure truly secure enterprise mobility--for mobile devices and all of the services and systems that are accessible via those devices.

More details on the new enhancements to BoxTone's EMM product, from the company:
