SenSage unlocking SIEM data so business intelligence, management tools can exploit it

SenSage, which makes security information and event management (SIEM) products, is opening up its platform to share data it gathers with business intelligence tools so they can be used to make better decisions.

SenSage is upgrading its software to support a variety of APIs including Open Database Connectivity and Java Database Connectivity as well as open APIs like SNMP. It also supports some proprietary APIs including Check Point Software's LEA.

At the RSA Conference this week, the company is also launching an online community portal called Open Security Intelligence for security practitioners to share best practices. The goal is to help prevent successful exploits from spreading and to block similar exploits that come along later.
